NorthPin True North Compass for iPhone and Android

NorthPin True North Compass is an offline compass for finding and following a direction when a signal is unavailable. It shows a 0–360° bearing, three stability modes and a live jitter score, then warns when nearby magnetic interference makes the reading less trustworthy. Choose magnetic or True North using offline WMM declination, pin a bearing for left/right guidance, or save a waypoint and use a back-bearing to return. It also calculates sun, moon and Qibla direction on the phone, and can copy coordinates as DD, DMS, UTM or MGRS.

What is it?

NorthPin True North Compass is an app for bearings, waypoint guidance, and offline sun, moon, and Qibla direction.

What problem does it solve?

A changing magnetic field or a shaky reading can make a simple compass hard to trust outdoors. NorthPin shows stability and interference information, then gives you a bearing you can follow or save.

What it can do

  • Smooth 0–360° bearings with 3 stability modes and a live jitter score
  • Magnetic interference detector with µT field strength and warnings
  • Guided figure-eight calibration to fix a wobbly compass
  • Magnetic or True North with offline WMM declination — one-time location or manual coordinates
  • Pin a bearing and get left/right guidance until you are on target
  • Save named waypoints and use back-bearing to retrace your steps
  • Sun and moon azimuth, elevation, sunrise/sunset direction and moon phase
  • Offline Qibla direction, computed on your device

How to use it

Calibrate with the figure-eight guide, choose magnetic or true north, then pin a bearing or save a named waypoint. Use the left/right guidance and back-bearing when you need to return.

Who it is for

Hikers, campers, boat crews, and anyone who needs an on-device direction tool away from signal.
