Chess Clock: Board & Go Timer is a configurable game clock for two to six players, with presets for chess, go, shogi and board games.

What problem does it solve?

A physical clock is not always at hand, and many clock apps skip byo-yomi, multi-stage controls or more than two players. This app handles those cases, and the whole half of the screen acts as a button so you never hunt for a small target while your flag is falling.

Privacy and permissions

Private by design.

The store listing says there are no ads, no in-app purchases, no account and no tracking, and that the app works fully offline. The only time it goes online is a quick check for a newer version at launch. The privacy page says Chess Clock requests no device permissions, and the only data that leaves your device is a text summary you choose to share through the system share sheet.

Does it work offline?

Yes. It works fully offline, and the only online step is a quick check for a newer version at launch.

Does it support byo-yomi for go and shogi?

Yes. Japanese and Canadian byo-yomi are included with period and stone counts and an audible countdown for the last five seconds.

Can more than two people play?

Yes. It supports two to six players with a turn order that you can reverse during the game.

Can players have different times?

Yes. Per-player handicap lets each player use a different time control.

What happens when a flag falls?

You can choose to keep playing after a flag under US Chess rules, where the opponent must claim the win. If both flags fall, the game is recorded as a draw.

Is it accessible?
